DESCRIPTION:
During the academic year, by taking into account the parameters of semester, level, student temperament and student personality and by making an effort to understand the needs and dreams of our students, the following subjects are taught, in total as well as per case:

In short

Drawing and colour from life models.
Drawing and colour from inanimate models.
Drawing and colour from a photo.
Visual exploration in the conversion of hue to colours.
Visual exploration of the drawing and the colour as a means of expression.
Deepening the understanding of three-dimensional space for the formulation of two-dimensional images.
Visual exploration and interpretation of the space - urban landscape, indoor landscape.
Elaborating on the concept of “means” as a strategy.
Visual and audiovisual media (photography - video - animation)

In detail
From the first year, there is an emphasis on observation, the relationship between different sizes, the relationship between different concepts, hue and colour differences and the use of appropriate materials, in order for the student to acquire as early as possible a sharp visual understanding, which of course requires increased curiosity and the use of basic drawing principles.

Since already the first semester, there is particular emphasis on research and experimentation which lead to the element of documented “error” which is a prerequisite for a work of exploration.

Depending on the case and by placing serious importance on the selection of the medium, students are encouraged to implement their work through computers, performances, installations, structures etc.

As part of the courses and particularly for years 3 and 4, there is also an examination of themes beyond analogue drawing, where the concept of the analogue meets broader proposals and forms such as the ones shaped by modern art.

5th year
In the 5th year, by researching and understanding their work at many levels, students may proceed in a substantial way to their next phase: Preparing their dissertation which is the result of an internal, personal research, experimentation and constant process. Through this process, professors - critics and the public will be able to better understand the progress of each student.

Exercises and presentations
During the academic year, there will be thematic exercises on the concepts of comparison, positioning within the space and materiality. There will also be thematic exercises on initial approaches to concepts such as intervention and interference, rejection and acceptance, as well as sensing and emotion.

There will be presentations and lectures on topics that are not linked with the history of art but instead concern visual conflicts or comparisons.

Exhibitions
As part of its activities, workshop F will be, from time to time, carrying out group exhibitions of its students, in collaboration with the theory department of the ASFA in order to promote the co-existence of visual works and theory texts, aiming towards the better and more substantial understanding of these works by the wider public.
