DESCRIPTION
1st and 4th semester: Analytical thinking & specialized knowledge
1st Semester
- Observational drawing. Emphasis on the study of basic drawing concepts from life (animate-inanimate models).
- Line – shapes analysis and effort to understand shapes and forms
- Large-dimension drawing with the use of various materials - coal, pencil, ink, marker etc.
- Presentation of drawings from the history of art - discussion
2nd Semester
- introduction to colour
- use and properties of materials
- studying from life, analysing forms, quick-colour studies for understanding materials, qualities, dyes and composition
- Longer-duration and larger-size studies, introduction to the painting space
- presentation of works of art - artist monographs that come up through student discussions
3th Semester
- studies on the skills acquired in previous semesters. Exercises with non-painting materials.
- using the camera as a means to capture visual phenomena and transferring to the space of the painting
- presentations - discussions
4th Semester
- coordinating and completing previous-semester studies
- effort for students to analyse and understand their work in order to achieve more personal forms of study
5th and 10th semester: compositional thinking, broad and uniform knowledge, intellectual skills, applied and collaborative learning
5th & 6th semester
- the fifth semester along with the sixth semester are based on exploration, meaning that students are driven to personal exploration and asked to make decisions regarding their development and progress
- the selection of means is free
- each student presents their essays and works to others, the presentation being followed by comments, remarks and discussion
7th & 8th semester
During the 7th and the 8th semesters, there is a particular emphasis on deepening personal exploration by each student and preparing the way for starting off the dissertation
9th & 10th semester
Completion of a personal art proposal as composition for assessment at graduation, combining theory-based knowledge and practical application in the modern art framework preparing students for their introduction into the labor market preparing the dissertation with a discussion oriented towards the field of research of each student and the way in which their work will be presented.
